Bollywood Director "Shakeel Noorani" Arrested For Rape of Actress

In a shocking development in Mumbai, veteran Bollywood filmmaker SHAKEEL NOORANI has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 33 year old actress. The 73 year old director was taken into custody from a farmhouse in Mahabaleshwar after being on the run for 40 days following the registration of an FIR.

According to police reports, the actress filed a complaint alleging that Noorani sexually assaulted her over a period of four years. The investigation began when the actress approached the police seeking justice for these alleged crimes.

The Alleged Incident

The actress claims that Noorani first invited her to his residence in Malvani on the pretext of discussing a film script. According to her complaint, he offered her a drink, which left her incapacitated. When she regained consciousness, she alleges that Noorani showed her an intimate video recorded on his phone and threatened to leak it if she approached the police or informed her family.


The director was first introduced to the actress at an awards function in Lokhandwala back in 2016, where he promised her work in a film project and asked her to stay in touch.

Pattern of Allegations

The actress further alleges that Noorani used the video to blackmail her and sexually assault her repeatedly over the next four years. She also claims that he gave her contraceptive pills after the alleged assaults and poisoned her, which resulted in a miscarriage.

The Arrest

After the FIR was filed, Noorani went into hiding. Police searched several locations, including his son's residence in Andheri, but could not find him. Using technical surveillance, authorities traced him to his farmhouse in Medha, Satara district, where he was taken into custody on August 8. He was brought back to Mumbai and formally arrested.

Legal Proceedings


Noorani has been booked under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including:

• Section 64(2)(M) = Rape.
• Section 123 = Causing hurt by means of poison.
• Section 351(2) = Criminal intimidation.
• Section 88 = Causing miscarriage.

Following his arrest, Noorani was produced before the Borivali Holiday Court and remanded to police custody until August 12.

The Defense

Noorani's lawyer, Advocate Vikas Singh Goar, has denied all allegations. He stated that his client has been falsely implicated and that the accusations remain unproven in court. The lawyer emphasized that Noorani is presumed innocent unless proven guilty as the investigation continues.
